The highest point in the Black Forest, at 1,493 above sea level, is the Feldberg.
In the summer, with its beautiful mountain landscape, animal habitats with tremendous diversity of species,
and the well-known moors, the hearts of hikers, cyclists, and walkers beat a little faster.
As the biggest and oldest nature protection area in Baden-Württemberg, a large number of rare animal and plant species are found there.
In 2001, the Feldberg Nature Protection Center, Nature House, opened.
Nature lovers can explore exhibits, history, and special features of the nature protection area of Feldberg in this impressively designed wooden building.
The Feldberg train takes up to eight people per coach up to the lookout point, „Bismarck Monument“,
where you can have a unique view of the Alps and the mountains Mont Blanc, Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, and finally all the way to the Zugspitze.
The numerous hiking paths cause hikers’ hearts to beat a little faster.
That is the way the great Feldberg loop „Feldberg Steig“ was described by the German hiking institute—as
the premium path of the German Black Forest. This path leads hikers through dewy green meadows all the way up to the crest of the Feldberg.
A grandiose view of the romantic valley Zastlertal and the descent by way of the Baldenweger Hut on a narrow path are a few real highlights on this trekking tour.
Further landmarks and places of interest of the Feldberg are the Feldberg Church, which was built at the start of the 1960’s,
the television tower as the emblem of the Feldberg community, the weather station, the Bismarck monument, and the Feldberg nature park.
For cyclists and mountain bikers, aside from the marked cycling paths, there are also corresponding cyclists’ maps.
Of course, we also offer mountain bikes for rent—information in the Waldhotel.
The Feldberg is known as a perfect winter ski region. The Feldberg lift network provides a network of 28 ski lifts
with a combined slope distance of 50 kilometers.
The Feldberg is the highest situated ski region in Baden-Württemberg and offers slopes, long distance tracks,
a snowboard fun park, and snow hiking routes.
From family-friendly slopes to the World Cup sort, or even the very steepest of slopes, we have it covered.
Seven winter sports schools and regional rental stations for ski and snowboard equipment—the possibilities are endless!
Whether old or young, looking for sport, relaxation, or wellness, the Feldberg has something special to offer everyone!
